Wednesday my oldest celebrates her 12th birthday and
yesterday we spent the morning purchasing her birthday gift. She wants many
CD's, movies and the big one is getting her ears pierced. DH and I have nothing
against pierced ears, however we're not completely convinced that she'll take
care of her ears as well as not lose the earrings. I actually had pierced ears
when I was younger, double piercing in fact, but shortly after we moved to
Southern California I stopped wearing them for reasons I can't remember other
than I found them to be a pain. So, the DH and I will have to decide if we're
going to give her the gift of pierced ears on Wednesday. The big gift we bought
her on Sunday was her own computer. She'll share my Internet connection and her
sister will have the computer they shared all to herself with Internet as well.
They each chose two new computers games and now all that's needed is to set the
CPU's up in their new homework area in what used to be our dining room.
I'm still painting the youngest DD's room; it's becoming my
albatross. Will I ever have to energy to finish it? Well, Saturday is DD's
party so I'd better have it complete so I am able to clean the house properly.
The DH vented the dryer to the outside, so with any luck
this will help with the excess condensation in our washroom area of the
basement. However I have a feeling it's not enough and we'll have to go the
route of a whole house dehumidifier. All the pipes and ducts are sweating
buckets in this area and a portable won't handle the amount of moisture. So on
Thursday when we have the AC/heat pump checked we’d also get an estimate for
the whole house dehumidifier. Hopefully the price won't give me a heart attack.
For now though I need to clean the kitchen, vacuum and set up the computers.
