A Little More NaNo

The Thanksgiving holiday is over and for the most part we avoided the crowed stores. We ventured out for a few things but that was really to torment the kids. Both of my kids wanted to go to JCPenney but we didn't need to go to that store. Yesterday we hit Michael's craft store so I could pick up a few things. Usually I'm not a crafty person but I had an idea for my sister’s birthday gift, hopefully she'll like it. The kids ended up getting a couple of things even though I said not to ask. I bought them this foam stuff to cut and make ornaments and they also got some little foam cutouts in the shape of all things Christmas. They spent the entire afternoon in their rooms making ornaments; it made for pleasant TV watching.

On the novel front, I verified my NaNo Novel the other day and claimed my certificate and icon. I ended up with 53,600 and was impressed with other verified totals when I checked out others who finished. Some were over the 100K marks. I think if I had let everything else rest for NaNo I might have been able to accomplish a higher word count but that wasn’t my goal. My goal was to get the story down and the main character out of my head for a while so I could concentrate on my current novel Beneath the Surface. Funny thing is I'm burnt. I haven't written a word since last Tuesday, though I have jotted down ideas and thought about my novel quite often and to me that is still writing even if I haven't touched pen to paper. I should clarify that I haven't written a word on my novel, but I have completed two articles and sent out 10 queries for articles. I also worked on and have most of my photography site Pixel Perspectives back online. Over all November has been a productive month for me, well writing wise it has, now if I could just get a good routine for keeping the house clean, laundry washed and dinner started I'd be on top of it all.

Until that happens, good writing to all.

  1. Maybe you could just write a list of things you want to do daily. Then when they aren't done you could say the procrastonator (how ever that is spelled) in you wouldn't let you do the work
