So Much To Do & So Little Time

One
week until school! Next Monday my kids will pack their lunch boxes and
backpacks and go off to school a week earlier than the year before. Of course
this means they'll be getting out of school a week earlier but my girls are
excited to go back and that's what matters. They actually think summer break is
too long, I know they're weird but once the Fourth of July passes they admit to
boredom and missing the structure of their school day.

This
week is packed full of household activity from getting ready for school to
finishing my daughter's room. I have one more coat of paint to put on in her
closet. Her bed is in place, the bookcase has been painted Sonic Boom Green,
her dresser will be sanded and primed today and painted Baby bee yellow
tomorrow with the drawers painted Enchanted Coach the color of her closet. By
Wednesday her dresser will be in its place and clothes loaded back in. Once
those things are completed we'll sort through her toys and move those back and
then this weekend the DH will hang the new ceiling fan and we'll cut, prime and
paint her new desktop to secure in her closet. With luck her summer long
remodel will be complete.

Sometime
in September we will have a new canine family member too. Our family is excited
to welcome a retired racing greyhound. We're not sure whether it'll be a male
or female, but the rescue is leaning toward a male for us since our female
beagle/basset mix has strong alpha tendencies. To say we are excited is an
understatement, we love all our dogs equally, but there is something about the
Greyhound breed that draws you in and captures your whole heart and for a dog
to do that to my husband means this dog is meant to be in our home.

Well,
the girls are awake which means I can get to my painting and they can do pooper
scooper dooty in the backyard.
