Wintry Mix & Squeaker Update

We're getting a wintry mix today, well at 5:30 am it's almost over for my area. Schools are closed, but then I was certain they would be because of the sleet and freezing rain. What cracks me up as I watch the news and follow the weather reports is how serious and dire the weather forecasters sound. They all no matter what channel sound like the end of the world is coming. I understand how dangerous icy roads are but to hear the reporters talk it's life or death out there.

How do you folks in places known for snow do it? Do your forecasters get that dire pitch to their voice with a touch glee thrown in? Do you like the snow and cold? If not why do you stay? If so, why? Why on earth would you like the cold? I can't stand having cold feet. My feet are perpetually cold in late fall and winter. It doesn't matter if I wear socks and shoes my feet are still cold. Give me 75 degrees and blue skies and I'm a happy woman!

Oh well, my kids are home until Monday and there's nothing I can do about that. But I can put them to work. Happy snowy Friday!

Mouse Update

The Squeaker is still at large! He's taunting the dogs and me. He taunts me by sprinting from underneath my refrigerator to my stove. I can here his squeaky laugh and voice saying, "Lady the people who lived here before you couldn't catch me, what makes you think you can."

I'm starting to feel like the little Squeaker is right. My dogs and loan cat are no good to me either. They'll chase all the other little critters but not the one that's invading their space. They look at me like you're our leader; it's your job to protect us from the big, bad, little squeaker. I may be their leader but a squeaker catcher I am not. I think it's time to call the professionals, because what if the one squeaker is actually two, three or more? What if that loan squeak is actually a chorus of squeaks and I'm just not letting myself hear it? YUCK, YUCK, YUCK!!!
