I'm still working on my daughter's room, painting and
cleaning as I go. Yesterday I put what I hope is the final coat of primer on
the old checkered flag wall. I knew it would need a couple of coats, but I
never thought that I would put four on. That's what I get for thinking and
using the word never. While the primer dried I tackled the storage area under
my daughter's bed, thinking this won't take too long, but again that's what I
get for thinking. Two-hours later and one black trash bag later the under bed
storage was empty. Now I need to get my daughter in there with me to go through
the pile of toys and clothes that are left sitting in the corner and while I
have her we'll need to tackle her closet. The closet should prove interesting,
well at least the floor. Her closet will become a desk and shelving area and
the only wall space that will have the purple (Enchanted Coach Ride) the
shelving and desk space going in there will either become Sonic Boom green or
Baby Bee yellow or both.
So today's goal is to get the last of the mess cleaned out
and the main Forest Sunset orange color on the walls so that tomorrow the DH
and I can tape out the stripes and cut and stencil the circles.
Last night proved to be an okay night of training for my
pups, even with their excess energy from lack of exercise because of the high
humidity they both worked well and graduated to their next levels of obedience.
For right now training will continue at home until the next session. I've had
family ask me why I'm spending all this money on training for my dogs and my
answer is to make them the best family members they can be. My family will
appreciate all our time and effort when they visit and my dogs don't maul them
with over excitement or knock down their small kids. I also enjoy the classes,
the same way my DH and kids enjoy their hockey. I could and do the training on
my own, but it's nice to have the trainer’s opinion and it exposes my dogs to
new people and dogs, which is important. Dogs are a lifetime commitment and
keeping them socialized and trained continues long after all the classes.
Finally, hockey fans across the US and Canada are rejoicing
there will be a hockey season! Yes, I am a hockey fan and so is my DH, he's a
Redwing fan and I'm a Capitals fan and have been since I was a small kid. So
bring on the hockey!
I thought I would be more excited hearing about the new CBA than I am. I think the damage is done.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Daniel Gerardi is at one of your Capitals camps. He's a boy born in my hometown (my Mom goes to Curves with his Mom and Grandma) and he was part of the Memorial Cup winning London Knights, which is where I live now. I'm thinking his coach, former Capital Dale Hunter, might have set that up.
He's a nice boy. Take good care of him if he stays.
