Finally some great news! Last night around 9:30 pm an e-mail
landed in my inbox giving me the news that my youngest daughter placed in her
first essay contest! Two weeks ago she entered a local contest on Responsible
Dog Ownership and won the second place ribbon. I can't wait to wake her for
school this morning and give her the wonderful news. Sunday we'll go to the
Fredericksburg Dog Festival as we planned, only now well hang around until the
end so that she can hear her name called and go up onto the stage to receive
her ribbon.
More good news on the redecorating front, all that's left
for completion on my daughters room are shelves and organizing toys, books and
clothes. Once that is finished I’ll photograph the room and post them here and
on my web site
Yesterday was also my husbands and my 15th
wedding anniversary mine where has the time gone? It feels like yesterday that
I walked down the aisle at Fort McNair Chapel. I can see my 12 year-old
daughter as a newborn, toddler, going off to kindergarten and her sister being
born before we left our Southern California home for Virginia. It's also hard
to believe that when we celebrated our 7th anniversary we had just lost my mom.
We celebrated our 11th anniversary in the aftermath of 9/11 our 12th was marked
by the death of my dad and the DC Sniper. Lucky 13 was Hurricane Isabel and 14
and 15 locally were uneventful news wise. Associating events still makes me
wonder how the time passed so quickly. Too bad Duane and I don't have a dollar
for every time someone thought or said we'll never make it this far, we'd be
rich! Well, bring on the next year I have a great feeling.
