Meet Josie the Beagle/Basset Hound

Josie2936_1 Josie
is my Beagle/Basset hound mix. I rescued her from the local SPCA when she was
five-months old. She's her own dog and she lets everyone know it. Training her
has been a challenge. If you've never owned a hound think twice because it's
extremely difficult to get their noses off the ground and when you have the mix
I have it's almost impossible. She's also been difficult to housebreak. She's
finally housebroken; at least I hope three months with no accidents means she
is. It's been a long eight months and the families running joke is she's lucky
she's so damned cute! She turned one this month and for all her stubbornness
she's a wonderful companion. She's curled up next to me as I write this.

I
can take Josie anywhere, she never barks in public and no one can resist her.
But then how could those big beautiful ears and expressive eyes not affect
them. Josie1880_3 But don't let her pitiful look fool you, she's the mischief-maker in our
canine pack. She's an expert digger and will gladly accept an accomplice
especially if mud is involved. She's an expert chaser and leg biter, canines
not humans over all she's a pest. Josie also has above average skills in the
couch potato department. But it's her persistence and outright joy for life and
play that won my families and mine hearts.

Check
out her photo album on the left. Coming up next is Dexter our retired racer.
Until next time, puppy licks and woof, woof.
