Snow, Pro or Con

When you have dogs snow can either be an advantage or disadvantage. The disadvantages might outweigh the pros for non-dog lovers like having tiny snowballs stuck to your dog’s paws and face. Tracking in what appears an endless amount of mud or the dog just won't go out. I don't have the last problem I have the opposite, I can't keep my dogs inside and while that might appear a con I choose to look at it as a pro. It works for me because my dogs ran themselves senseless. By 7 pm they were lounging contentedly in various spots around my house. Wyatt snoozed happily in the family room, and curled up on the couch in the living room were Josie and Dexter both snoring softly.

The snow did my job for me. It wore my puppies out. All three dogs sniffed and ran to their hearts content. Wyatt still wanted to play fetch but he wasn't as manic about it because after all he had this white stuff to eat, smell and roll in. The downside was that by early afternoon I had a mud pit in my yard. Though the temperature never reached much past 35 degrees the sun hits my yard most of the day and that was enough to start the melting process and those dreaded puddles formed and to Wyatt's delight. Now he not only had little snowballs stuck to his paws he had mud. My once clean floors are dirty with paw prints again. But it wouldn't be my home without a few or hundreds of paw prints. To me those prints equal happiness, my dogs and mine. So here's to another sloppy day and more muddy prints.

To see some of yesterday's fun check out the dog's photo albums.

Until next time Woof, Woof and a Roo.
