Books, Gas & Weekend

It was a busy weekend! The kids had hockey and speed skating and we had a car wash fundraiser to attend. The car wash was a huge success and you can read about it my Pawsitively Insane Blog. Hockey practice was missed because we got so involved with the car wash that it was too late to drive back in time. The kids didn't seem too disappointed as they had a blast washing cars and helping take donations for the greyhounds.

Behind The Reading Times

I must admit that I do not run out and buy books because they are the current number one seller or because everyone says it's a must read and my proof of this is Davinci's Code. I picked it up yesterday technically violating my personal pact not to buy any new books until I put a huge dent into my to be read pile. I say technically because the husband said it was the kids Mother's Day present to me a week early. What a good man to enable my book buying habit! I started it yesterday and so far, I'm impressed but I will hold off on my official opinion until I finish. When books are this popular I tend to end up with a huge let down, though many have said this book won't do that. I'm not reading it because the movie is coming out because I won't be seeing the movie in the movie theater, it'll have to wait until it hits DVD because one I get migraines watching movies in a dark theaters and two it's too expensive to go to a movie when gas prices are so high.

What Are You Paying for Gas?

I live within an hours drive to Washington DC and the average price for gas up there is $3.01. I guess some would say we're lucky because we're paying $2.75 a gallon. The price is up .25 from last month but it's still better than those north of me. If you want to search the lowest prices in your neighborhood check out this link Lowest Price, just enter your zip code and it'll list the gas prices lowest to highest. Turns out one of the 7-11’s have a lower price than Costco in my neighborhood.

That's it for today, until next time good writing!
