Virginia Greyhound Car Wash

Cw456901001
Saturday was a long day for Dexter and our entire family. We spent the day volunteering at Virginia Greyhound Adoption's first car wash in Culpeper, VA. It was a huge success! We raised over a $1000 for the hounds! Initially my family and I were only supposed to stay about an hour because our two-legged kids had hockey practice but they were so involved with helping that by the time we were ready to leave they wouldn't have made practice on time so we just stayed and the husband and kids continued to help wash cars and take donations!

The weather was perfect! Tons of sun and a light breeze, Dexter on the other hand was not as
exCw457901001cited. The first hour left him a tad uneasy with all the cars driving past him in the Wal-Mart parking lot. He soon settled in and started greeting all the people with his usual enthusiasm. Dexter spent most of his time hanging with the car washers. He loves water and likes to dip his paws in the water to keep cool. He made quite a few greyt impressions on people wanting to see large greys. Dexter is a big boy and bigger than many though not the largest male in the VAGA organization. He was a greyt ambassador for VAGA just like the others who came to strut their stuff. Beside Dexter, Bailey and Louisa May Allcott were there as well as one foster named
Angel. Angel was beautiful and full of personality. She'll be a wonderful addition to a lucky family. All and all it was a fantastic day! If you'd like to view more photos of the car wash look under the album links and click on car wash.

Until next time Woof, Woof and a Roo!
