Waiting for Paint to Dry

The worst part of painting is waiting for the paint to dry. I was finally able to start painting this afternoon. I would have been finished with the painting yesterday if I had not had to replace rotten drywall. This morning the DH and I sanded it down and then I swept and vacuumed the dust as well as washed down the walls. By 11 am I was putting the first coat of primer on the walls. According to the paint specialist at Lowes I should use a primer tinted gray instead of the Posh Red color I am painting the walls. Supposedly this will help with keeping the Posh Red its true color. I guess we’ll see when I start rolling on the red around 4 pm today. I’m wondering if I will like this. I love red but this is a small powder room. My worst nightmare is it will become the Red Rum.

My weekend project will spill over to Monday because I’ll need to roll the second coat of red. Hopefully I won’t need a third. Once that’s dry I’ll paint the baseboards and door frame white. Then I’ll need the DH to pick up the crown molding so I can paint it white and hang it. It’ll probably be Tuesday before that happens and by Wednesday I can start with putting the toilet back and place the new vanity. Then we’ll at least be able to use the toilet again. I’ll spend the rest of the week adding the finishing touches. My weekend project is now a week long project because I’m participating in NaNoWriMo and I need to get my 3K word count in each day. Oh well at least there are two other bathrooms in the house!

Until next time, good writing!
