I finished The Tenth Circle and I still found it a depressing read, but I will say that Picoult is a wonderful storyteller. I kept turning the pages and that'€™s what a good author is supposed to make the reader want to do. It'€™ll probably be a while before I read another of her books, but I’m sure this will spark a great book club discussion.
On a lighter book note I read and finished yesterday Shannon Mckelden'€™s, Venus Envy. What a wonderful, witty, light and fresh read! I loved both Rachel and Venus. Mckelden'€™s book reminded me of the chick lit movies I watch on cable, while you know how it will end the fun is seeing how the character'€™s get there. This would be a great beach read.
I'€™m not sure what I'€™ll read next, perhaps Jackson'€™s book Between Georgia or maybe I'€™ll try another Laymon book that I have on my shelf. But first I need to get some work accomplished on my novels and then clean the house.

I keep meaning to try Jodi - what's her best one for starting - I like dark and deep, but I'm not really in the mood for depressing. She sure seems to crank them out.

ReplyDeleteTenth Circle was my first by Picoult and from what I hear many of hers are either depressing, dark and deep or all three :) I'm an eclectic reader though I do lean toward the grim and dark.

I need light reads every few books too. I like light and funny with some romance but I don't want to read a romance novel.
